WHOLE-BODY MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING SEMINAR: WHOLE-BODY MRI

29/09/2023

On September 27, 2023, Thai Nguyen International Hospital Joint Stock Company (TNH) and Siemens Healthineers Company jointly organized the seminar program “Whole-body MRI, diagnostic value and follow-up after treatment”. Attending the program were People’s Doctor, Senior Doctor, General Director of TNH – Mr.Le Xuan Tan, experts from Siemens Healthineers Company and a large number of doctors and nurses from TNH and hospitals in Thai Nguyen province.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, People’s Doctor, Senior Doctor, General Director of TNH – Mr.Le Xuan Tan, gave a quick update on TNH’s operations, emphasizing the importance of Whole-body MRI, its value in diagnosis, post-treatment monitoring and the significance of the seminar for TNH hospitals in particular and the medical industry in general. At the same time, we hope to have cooperation and improve the qualifications of the company’s team of doctors specializing in diagnostic imaging.

People’s Doctor, Senior Doctor, General Director of TNH – Mr.Le Xuan Tan spoke at the conference

Overview of the conference program

At the conference, MSc.Dr. Bui Quang Huynh, Deputy Head of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Viet Duc Hospital, shared about the application of Whole-body Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Whole-body MRI in screening and post-treatment monitoring. Accordingly, the whole-body magnetic resonance imaging technique does not use radiation but obtains accurate images of pathologies in the skull, neck, spine, hepatobiliary system, pancreas, spleen, uterus – adnexa, prostate and can detect tumors at a fairly early stage. In addition, when a lesion is detected on a whole-body magnetic resonance image, we can take additional scans, focus on the damaged area to clearly evaluate the details of that lesion, as well as the relationship between the lesion and other tissues. Whole-body magnetic resonance imaging helps survey the entire body, so there is a general assessment to screen for damage in the body, especially in screening for cancer, metastatic cancer and post-treatment monitoring.

Also at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Anh, expert from Siemens Healthineers Company, presented about Hardware Technology and AI in Whole Body Magnetic Resonance Imaging. This technology focuses on flexibility, accurate images, and quick execution. With multi-coil connection technology, it will help increase image quality, allowing fast shooting, better image quality, and higher resolution. Using AI helps standardize the working process, the system will support operating technicians in bringing captured images to a certain standard, helping to ensure the best quality images.

At the workshop, doctors had many questions and heated discussions about real-life cases, thereby helping to effectively apply whole-body magnetic resonance imaging in diagnosis and post-treatment monitoring.

Doctors spoke at the conference

The outstanding content and advantages of whole-body magnetic resonance imaging presented by experts at the conference opened up opportunities to help TNH doctors and nurses update new knowledge and improve their skills, thereby contributing to the process of diagnosis, detection and improving treatment effectiveness for patients.
