I.General Introduction

The Department of Ophthalmology at Thai Nguyen International Hospital has a professional team of 15 doctors who have been carefully selected, specialized and specialized training in each field. Doctor Nguyen Manh Hung, former director of Thai Nguyen Eye Hospital, is the leading PHACO surgeon in the province.

Doctor Do Thuy Quynh, former head of the Department of Examination at Thai Nguyen Eye Hospital, is a doctor with many years of experience in clinical diagnosis, treatment and surgery and PHACO.

Doctor Ngo Van Tap. Former doctor at Thai Nguyen Eye Hospital is also a PHACO surgeon, specializing in the field of eye plastic surgery.

Besides, the Department of Ophthalmology has been invested by the Hospital with fully modern equipment and machinery like a specialized hospital: PHACO surgery system, examination and surgery microscope system, eye ultrasound machine… More specifically, the Department is equipped with a retinal tomography (OCT) machine, the first and only machine available in Thai Nguyen to help screen and diagnose diseases of the retina that cannot be diagnosed by other means. can help patients not have to be transferred to the central hospital and improve the quality of treatment as well as in surgery, especially PHACO surgery.

High professional qualifications and skills, modern equipment system, good quality in examination and treatment and surgery have built a wide reputation, creating trust for patients when coming for examination and treatment. II. Outstanding Achievement

Successfully deploying PHACO surgery at Thai Nguyen International Hospital

Although not yet an ophthalmology hospital, the Department of Ophthalmology has successfully implemented PHACO surgery and became the second PHACO operation facility in the province (after Thai Nguyen Eye Hospital). More specifically, not only stopping at basic PHACO surgery to relieve blindness, but also performing advanced PHACO surgery to ensure all physical needs for patients, occupations with different types of surgery. Multifocal monofocal vitreous system is being implemented only in Thai Nguyen with the strategy of not chasing the quantity, taking the quality of surgery as the top priority for the patient.

Successfully implemented the first and only functional survey & diagnostic imaging with the first and only retinal tomography (OCT) machine in Thai Nguyen province.

The machine does not inject contrast, takes with light, so it is not harmful to the patient’s eyes; Diagnosing retinal, macular, and papilledema diseases that cannot be identified by eye ultrasound, ophthalmoscopy, fluorescein angiography, and retinal imaging. Especially on diabetic retinopathy, high blood pressure, old age macular degeneration, macular hole, preretinal membrane.
