TNH TRAINING TB PREVENTION

On October 27, 2023, the National Tuberculosis Prevention Program and Thai Nguyen International Hospital under Thai Nguyen International Hospital Joint Stock Company coordinated to organize training on tuberculosis prevention for doctors and nurses at Thai Nguyen International Hospital.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Vietnam is currently among the 20 countries with the highest tuberculosis burden in the world. While Vietnam’s private healthcare sector is growing and it is estimated that about 50% of TB patients go to private healthcare facilities for initial care before receiving TB treatment in the public healthcare system.

Model of public-private health coordination in tuberculosis care and prevention, which focuses on coordination between appropriate health care service providers in both the public and private sectors. Together with the National Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Program, this model has contributed to performing one or more tasks related to providing tuberculosis care services to patients.

Overview of the training program on tuberculosis prevention

At the training session, the trainees were taught basic knowledge about tuberculosis by lecturers of the National TB Control Program: Causes, modes of transmission, risk factors, clinical symptoms, monitoring and management of tuberculosis patients, ways to prevent tuberculosis in the community, tuberculosis prevention media content…, with the goal of building a tuberculosis prevention network in the community. In particular, emphasize the role of building a public-private health coordination network and community awareness to encourage people to participate in TB screening and treatment to protect themselves, their families and the community.

Lecturers of the National TB Prevention Program impart knowledge to nurses and doctors

Through the training class, trainees improve their knowledge of tuberculosis prevention, thereby improving the effectiveness of health education and communication work, contributing to early detection and timely treatment of tuberculosis patients in the community and improve the effectiveness of local tuberculosis prevention in the coming time.
