TRAINING PROGRAM OF MEDICAL LABORATORY GENERAL AWARENESS – REQUIREMENTS FOR QUALITY AND CAPACITY ACCORDING TO ISO 15189:2022 STANDARD

      During the 2 days of May 29 and 30, 2024, representatives of the Institute for Digital Economy and Organization Research had a training program on general awareness of medical laboratories – quality and capacity requirements according to ISO 15189:2022 standards for officers and employees of the Department of Examination, Laboratory, Internal Medicine, Pharmacy – Medical Supplies and the Department of Administrative Organization at Thai Nguyen International Hospital. 

      Speaking at the opening of the training program, People’s Doctor, Senior Doctor, Mr.Le Xuan Tan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Thai Nguyen International Hospital Joint Stock Company (TNH) affirmed the importance of building and successfully applying  lean management system combines with the laboratory capacity and quality management system according to ISO 15189:2022 standards into hospital operations. Especially emphasizing the very high determination of the staff to deploy and apply advances in management and operation to improve the hospital’s operational efficiency.

    At the program, Dr. Le Anh Hung, Deputy Director of the Institute for Digital Economy and Organization Studies, shared necessary information and general awareness on Medical laboratories – requirements for quality and capacity according to ISO standards 15189:2022 to practitioners. Accordingly, ISO 15189:2022 is a standard system that helps medical laboratories improve quality management capacity as well as increase the level of reliability in testing and diagnostic results. Operating the management system according to this standard helps the testing department improve accuracy, ensure reliability, and promote recognition of results among patient examination and treatment facilities nationwide.

Overview of the training program

Thai Nguyen International Hospital is one of two medical units in Thai Nguyen province selected to implement this program. The training program will be held regularly 2 times/week from now until the end of 2024 to improve knowledge and skills for officials and employees. From there, it helps workers apply it to practical work, gradually building processes and successfully applying a lean management system combined with a laboratory capacity and quality management system according to ISO 15189:2022 standard on hospital operations.
