04/03/2025
On February 12, 2025, Thai Nguyen International Hospital received a 41-year-old male patient, B.V.T., residing in Vo Nhai District, Thai Nguyen Province, who presented with severe headaches, dizziness, nausea, poor appetite and sleep, and numbness in both hands and feet.
Based on clinical symptoms and CT scan imaging, the patient was diagnosed with a bilateral chronic subdural hematoma. The medical team recommended cranial surgery to remove the hematoma and relieve pressure on the brain tissue.
The surgery was performed with the direct collaboration of experts from Hanoi Medical University Hospital, along with Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Duong and MSc., First-Class Specialist Dr. Luong Duc Hoang from the Department of Surgery at Thai Nguyen International Hospital. The surgical team carried out a single burr hole trepanation, irrigation, and hematoma evacuation, effectively reducing intracranial pressure. This minimally invasive procedure has been proven to be highly effective, allowing for quick recovery and improved patient outcomes.
Successful Surgery and Rapid Patient Recovery
After 45 minutes, the surgery was successfully completed, with the patient remaining fully conscious, free from headaches, and in stable condition, capable of resuming light daily activities.
