The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at TNH Pho Yen Hospital has successfully treated a rare and complex gynecological case using laparoscopic total hysterectomy, thereby affirming the high level of professional expertise and mastery of advanced surgical techniques of the hospital’s medical team.

The patient, a 41-year-old woman with a history of two vaginal deliveries, had noticed a long, firm mass accompanied by inflammatory discharge in the vaginal area over the past four years, causing significant discomfort and disruption to her daily life.

Upon direct examination, Dr. Hoang Thi Kim Ngan, MD, PhD – Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at TNH Pho Yen Hospital, observed that the patient’s cervix was severely hypertrophied, measuring up to 8 cm in diameter, with inflammation, an irregular surface, and easy bleeding of the external cervix.
